BT Bill now paying £19.91 with no calls made just line rental

  • The bill *is* your notification. They don't need to explicitly write to you or email you to tell you that the amount will be different this month; since most people do use them for some calls and other chargeable services, the amount will tend to vary each month anyway.

Whether paper based or paperless billing, if you have handed the keys to your current account to any supplier you need to a) check the bill and b) check the account to make sure the right amount was taken.

The right amount in this context means the amount on the bill, it has nothing to do with whether the bill was calculated correctly or not.

But the thing is they changed there billing dates for line rental when they bill me for 6 weeks hence the increase for one off. If you find you get billed x amount per month then suddenly find its a different amount you obviously alarmed of why the extra costs. As they never gave me notice I was natural alarmed. Had I not had enough money in bank given I dont use them for calls I could have got bank chargers if on red. Fortunately I am not in that position

Any other company if they change billing dates has to notify BT should not be a exception

There computer system is flawed by allowing a number LWxxxxxx instead of MYxxxxxx MY apparently so they tell me is there county code they use for there system. They said it must be because I been a old online customer which is true and for some reason it allowed it
