Yeh have always watched them but haven't bid yet! Most of the stuff goes for nearly the shop price anyway!

...and I would advise against buying from Comet for the customer service they give!! Absolute a**holes!

Fair enough comments, never used it myself, just found it this morning and thought to share it with everyone. So not so good then?

Bought a £500 hotpoint washer dryer from them, only paid £250 inc postage.
Washer was excellent, (Ex shop display) However, I live near the Nottingham delivery centre and some muppet in the central warehouse sent it to Chepstow in South Wales!! Took 3 weeks to get here. All I got from Comet was Ooops!!
My broad mind and narrow waist are slowly swapping places!!

I've had a good experience with Comets customer service, they don't usually refund games but they did mine - so maybe not so bad?
    I'm better off without you.

There has been talk on previous threads about staff members from Comet allegedly bidding up the prices to make sure they don't go for a song.
    Just a rumour!!

the info's a bit dodgy. check the dimensions & then th spec on this one.

dimensions suggest a 1cm cube, but it carries a 3.5" screen?, the Doctor would be proud!!!.

as for comet's customer service, well, policy reads 'spout whatever bull**** you can come up with to get the sale, then deny it all if they complain, don't worry, Manager will claim you're all to well trained to not have that knowledge' !!!

I bought a tumble drier from comet clearance auctions about a year ago and had to return it straight away - marked all over (not listed in auction) and the plug had been hacked off and not replaced (which I think is a little illegal, but I'm not sure!).

CS tried to fob me off with various excuses and had to use nerves of steel to actually get them to collect and refund, then they wouldn't refund my delivery costs until I called on a twice daily basis to complain and wrote about 3 times a week!

I have bought a few items from them and they are usually OK (just). But I do suggest you are patient and spend a bit of time watching items some of the prices are outrageous at times. I will want at least 30% off the price and sometimes this is not acheivable. To be honest I also think that is generous at times.

One thing to remember is to check the item thoroughly against the description before the delivery guy leaves and if in doubt reject at that point. If you later find other things wrong (eg missing tray in fridge) price it up and the phone CS and ask for a partial refund. On the missing tray it cost me £12 but I got back £36. CS seem to have a bit if discretion on this.

There are deals to be had but they are not fantastic but I have found they save you a bit on white goods.

but whats the point in doing all that to waste time, money and undue stress, when you can buy from a decent store and have a decent one delivered!? ..... and check voucher and discount thread for money off!!!
