Loo Roll - what's the point in 'luxury' toilet paper?!?

I'd rather spend a few more pence than have a chaffed !!!!!!

I use the cheapest but keep a pack of those wet wipe thingies for when my evilminded haemorrhoid is really playing up.The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0

False economy - the cheaper the brand, the more you use.Eoin_McLove wrote:Even when I'm earning my millions as a chartered accountant, I think I'll continue buying the 'Basics' brand. My girlfriend and I use about a roll per day on average (you were just gagging to know that, am I right?), so roughly that's three 'Basics' 12-packs per month, costing £3.60 per month, or £43.20 per year. If I were to go up-market with the Andrex, it'd cost £186.24 for the same number of toilet rolls (432).
Granted, it's nicer on your bum, but are you willing to spend nearly £200 a year for the privilege of wiping your brown-eye with a brand name?
I use Velvet triple layer toilet roll... because my bum's worth it! :rotfl:"He who asks questions cannot avoid the answers"0 -
We use one a day in my family (2 adult, 1 kid) and 2 a day with cheap stuff. I find ASDA and Tesco own brand (not value or smart price) just as good as premium ones.Wildly my mind beats against you, yet the soul obeys. :heartpuls

Roll a day, sometimes more.
I swear they ate it at one point, but it just seems that women (or at least those I shared with) used excessive amounts of toilet roll for each trip to the bathroom.
Mind you, I couldn't be bothered arguing with them, I just bought cheap toilet roll

According to Gillian McKeith (that bizarre, mutant, self-styled 'dietician' who condemns the eating of anything not in the vegetable/fruit family), you should only use about two sheets per poo if you are eating healthily, since your choccy logs will make a nice clean exit, leaving behind minimum !!!!!!-treacle. In this sense, there is no 'false economy'.
I myself prefer to wipe until mud no longer dirties cloth. Perhaps this goes some way to explaining my excessive roll-use. Actually, I also like to wipe the seat with, say, six or seven sheets, and then carefully place these at the base of the toilet in order to avoid splashback. In this way, I am looking at perhaps 25-30 sheets per tom-tit.

I use cheapo toilet roll. My backside has never complained...Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0

I buy the middle of the range stuff - used to get the cheap stuff when we were worse off, but it's not very nice.
tesco's or Asda's soft range is around £1.50 for 4 rolls which the family uses in a week.
But always good to keep an eye open for offers....Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219.
