What mobile for holiday in Canada ??
Hi Folks,
I tried a search but didnt come up with anything
I'm going on holiday in Oct to Canada (Banff, AB) , what type/model of mobile works over there ??
I used to have a Nokia 6310 which worked in the States but work wanted that back when they made me redundant
(Thats ok coz I volunteered !)
Mobiles in our house (eeek !)
NEC 616e (on 3 )
Nokia 1100 ( on voda)
Nokia something (That orange deal from 2 xmas's ago ??)
Only want to take one as an emergency contact, not planning useing it if possible.
many thanks
Adbru

You'll need a tri-band phone(GSM 1900)

better yet, you want a phone that has both GSM 1900 AND GSM 8500

Cheapest Tri Band is going to be a Siemens A62, that Orange were knocking out for next to nothing earlier in the year. Bound to be some on ebay.
Only problem is they're a complete pig to unlock, so you would have to keep it on Orange. Still if you just wanted a cheap phone to take on holiday, it's an option.0 -
Thanks for the input folks :-)
The Orange A62 sounds good..seem to be cheap on Fleabay and as my other half is already on orange we could just use her sim card and existing number while we are away . Result !!
Many thanks

No, it will be much cheaper to use a local SIM card, so get a phone that is easily unlocked
