I would love to know if he actually phoned any of those dodgy ambulance chasers that you see advertised on daytime tv to get his pound of silver.

I doubt this very much. People can go private, but still, most people use the NHS. People in this country have no idea how good they have it. Be grateful for what you have.

2 years ago I fell on my back. Went to x-ray, had a x-ray and was told it was just soft tissue damage. Did not take time off work because I thought I could get by with painkillers.

6 weeks later at a hospital appointment (different specialty) they pulled out my x-ray report - 2 fractures L3 and L5.

Radiologist had picked up the fractures (A&E doctor did not).

Would I dream of demanding compensation? No. It was a genuine error made by an overworked doctor.

The NHS is overstretched. I know, I have worked for them for nearly 30 years.

We are becoming more and more like America. A compensation culture.
