  • Well i think you should grow up Norant but we cant all have what we want can we!! Iv spoken to Stuntman Kev and he was simply acting on a suggestion that was made by his employer, he is not going to take any legal action but the health visitor strongley suggests he complains to child health. Also yes the child could have became ill. I beleive the doctor told him that and so did the health visitor. And YES he was concerned for his baby!

I am not on the wrong thread, its what all this comes down too, NHS an their bad mistakes. i brought it up at a child group with social services the other day an they couldnt beleive how Stuntman was treated and strongly advised he did something about it. I admit yes nurses are busy but in the cases i am talking about with my family they were sitting nattering and laughing for a long time. Hence why my mum had to tell them my nan had been lyin there dead for all that time and it was about time they cleaned her up. then no apology. so they arent all that good!

Several years ago, I learned to take charge of my own healthcare. If my tests etc don't get organised on time I'm on the phone organising them for myself. After all, I'm the only one likely to suffer the side-effects.

Firstly why should Norant grow up? I think that comment was totally unjustified and uncalled for and I think he probably has more experience of the NHS than any of us! If you've spoken to Stuntman Kev why not invite him back on here to continue the debate especially as he seems to have such an unsympathetic employer?

I don't think Social Services are in any position to make recommendations or give advice without having first hand experience of the case.

Nurses are entitled to talk and laugh, they are humans just like us. Goodness their job is hard enough without people expecting them to do it in silence. I am sorry about your loss but did you formally complain about what happened and what was the outcome?

As I said before, the NHS generally does very good work and save many lives on a daily basis. They are not all bad you know and I am sorry that you seem to have suffered more of their incompetence than all of us. I would assume that you have lodged formal complaints with the appropriate authorities so that efforts can be made to stop the same sort of thing happening to others? You might also like to consider talking to the Patient Liaison Service if ever you have another family member in hospital as they are usually quick at sorting out issues for patients while under the care of their hospital.

    Pinksponge...I thanked you in error.

I have once again reread his post and there is nothing there that mentions his employer or health visitor.

From what i understand i his OP and please correct me if im wrong here he was called into his local GP for his baby to have some injections,ok i think im right there he got there and was waiting, after a little while he was told that his injections were to early anyway and the child could not have them.He missed sometime off of work and wanted to know if he could claim against the NHS,but just to be right i am going back to the original post to check again.

    back soon.

I truly hope the OP has crawled back under the stone from whence he came.

Funny how pinksponge has suddenly registered to pursue the good cause.

Hi our baby recieved his letter asking him to come into the doctors for his injections, I took the morning off of work to take him in for his injections, loosing A mornings pay, appointment was set for 11am, we got there at 10:55 and sat down waiting, 20mins went past so we checked with receptionist and she didnt have a clue what she was doing and didnt know how to use the computer or phones but said she would find out why we have been waiting for so long, after 45mins the nurse come out and took us into the room to tell us that it was too early for his injections and that we should not have been asked to go in, also found out that the admin realised that it was too early for the injections so they just deleted us off the system but didnt bother telling us.....NHS wasting our time and I lost money as I could have been at work.

Does anyone know if there is any way we could get some compensation for loss of earnings as If you miss an appointment and waste there time they would be the first to charge you.

    Thanks

    Kev

No i think i just about got that right,he wanted to sue the NHS that cost thousands of pounds to get his baby into this world through...pre natal checks, the delievery, the aftercare, the midwives...so on and so fourth, thousands of pounds.

Yet he wanted compensation for having to wait a little while, and because he lost a mornings wages.

    well thats gratitude for you.

Was his babies life put in danger, has there been any bad after effects, are they mentally scarred from having to read the practices different array of outdated Take a break, and womens own magazines. If i think that they are the injections that he is referring to are the same sort of injections that my three children have had..then no harm would have become of them.

Could you post some tips ? I don't seem to be able to order my biopsy tests myself.

  • technically your GP is not NHS, trained by the NHS, paid by the NHS but not employed by the NHS, they are self employed (mores the pity, very hard for the NHS to control them now which means poor OOH service, phlebotomy services etc etc) and the NHS gets the blame, blame your GP not the NHS chuck.
