Does that brand have extra long use by dates like Cravendale?

Personally I always buy Cravendale as I live alone and only use milk for my cereal. Cravendale is the only brand that I actually get to use the whole carton. Other brands turn sour too quickly.

Just as a point of interest ...

... I've just made a coffee with almost the last (still a cupful left) of a 2 litre bottle of Semi from FARMFOODS

Cost 75p (21.3p per pint) under their 2 for £1.50 offer.

Why am I posting this ?

Well I bought this 2 litre bottle (along with one of its friends) on FEBRUARY 28th

I opened it 8 days ago on 6th March. Today is the 14th March.

It smells perfectly normal, it tastes absolutely fine. Not a hint of curdling when you pour it into boiling hot coffee (which is a good test if it's on the turn). Only been kept in the fridge door.

The point ? The USE BY DATE !

    9th of March

And this isn't the 1st time - GOOD MILK that stuff at Farmfoods :)

  • Hi Quoia, quite agree with your post. We have just discovered grandson's blue top milk (lives with us) has gone out of date by a day. If it was another supermarket's milk I would have been really cross but because it is Farm Foods I am sure it will be fine for a few more days. As you say if it passes all the simple tests its got to be drinkable and taste perfectly fine.
