A fiend for life - £21 pm??? On my tariff that approximates to ~ 4kwh p day gas and 1.5kwh p day electric - so no heating and no lighting, no TV, no washing m/c etc etc
A standing charge only traiff with no power consumed comes out at £18 p. month!!0 -
... I have rung and explained to EDF that I can not afford to play them £ 3.000 nor I could pay them £200 a month ...
How much did you offer them that you could afford?
£3k over 3 years is almost £100 per month, so to ask you to pay £200 per month (£100 as consumption + £100 debt recovery) until the debt is paid off seems more than reasonable to me."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
That would I imagine be for a fairly large house. I have a 2 bedded flat and usually pay about £30 per month combined gas/electric.
Wow, we pay in a flat £130-160 per month for electricity alone. Yet people seem to think it's fine? People in the same situation pays only £60-80, and E-On doesn't seem to understand why I'm moaning at them to sort something out. We have 1 heater on, fridge and freezer, that's pretty much it. Annoying, and we still get a debt saying we owe them £500+ :mad:0 -
For those who are paying under £40/month, do you live in bedsits or never use heating/lighting? Are you sure you are using correct meter readings?
I have a small 3 bedroom house. I was paying £100/month and using the heating just when needed. They have now dropped it to £80/month because I was in credit. I expect it to go back up again soon due to the severe winter that we've had.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

Hi Nade,
Just want to offer a bit of info if I can.
Does the monthly payment amount include paying off the £500 debt? if so do you know how much your approximate usage is? and how much is going towards the debt?
Have you checked all your meter readings are correct? accurate not estimated. You could also take reads for seven days to get an idea of how much you use.
You can also speak to the energy efficiency department to see if they can help with reducing your usage and also find out where this energy is being used.
Have you checked you are on the best tariff for your needs?
Just let me know if you need any more info

Of course you have more than one heater and a fridge-freezer! No washing machine, tumble dryer, power shower, immersion heater, dishwasher, oven/ hob/ microwave, halogen lighting, computer, telecoms gadgets? Are you reading your meter weekly to identify when you are using the energy? Have you tried turning off the circuit breaker and seeing if the meter stops? What is the insulation in the flat like and what temperature do you consider acceptable?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
