    Dont live in Bridgend anymore so dont visit there, but i think its always expanding, and TBH, a small place like Bridgend needs somewhere like "The pines" (to us locals) as an attraction!

    Trouble is it attracts all the locals out of town, and coaches just go to the Pines, not the town centre. Now all we have is mobile phone shops and charity shops...even McDonalds shut down..not that that's a bad thing. Not to mention the Pines is full of chav kids on most occasions, I warn anyone off going there on Orange Wednesday...

    I might pop for a look in GAP though :)

  • macarthur glen in swindon is larger and cheaper and has more variety of stores.
    found out as i was working up there and bought goods up there i coudn't get in bridgend and good that were cheaper than bridgend.
    if you want a good day out go there not bridgend its even worth paying the bridge toll.

    is it shut for good ?

    i havent been there for a while, but when i was there last, there was work going on in the food court,but maccy ds was still open

    Went to mcarther glen today for the first time, and man, was i disapointed. There seems to be loads of stuff for blokes, loads of stuff for middle aged women, but nowt for me! I was gonna spend the day there, but instead, i bought some chocs in thorntons, and some knickers in calvin klein, and spent the afternoon in the cardiff ikea! man, now THATS a shopping experience!

    i can always find something in Mc arthur,i love Elle and for cheap n cheerful stuff Pilot & Logo

    I love ikea and can spend a whole day there with a few trips to the cafe ;):o :rotfl:

    we are just back from a wkend in Birmingham,went on a shopping spree in The Bulllring oh boy was i in my element :beer:

    About a year ago, I visited the one there. THe shops were a lot cheaper, and there were more of them. I suppose it's because they are closer to lots of big cities there.....
