Cheapest Text Allowance Per Month
Options
My Daughter uses about 1500 texts a month and has been on 02 pay as u go - which has given 300 free texts but she wants to know what would be best to get more free texts in a package, she looked at the orange website but the 1000 free texts on payg looked a bit confusing, she not fussed on supplier or x-mins just best deal on texts.

basically the orange PAUG thing is like a bonus for topping up
before it was purely you top up £10 you get 10% extra credit (£11), for £20 you get 20% extra (£24) etc now theyve exchanged the extra credit for texts (think they are just to other oranges tho
if you top up £20 you get 200 texts, £30 is 300 texts etc
the pay monthly deal would be better as that comes with 1000 texts
e.g. 0 mins 500 texts (plus the 1000 extra per month in the promo) is 1500 texts per month for £25 [am 90% sure that you can use that deal with the text promo ill try and check tomorrow]
only prob is has to be 18month contract, but you can trade in an old phone (you'll get a really decent one free with that anyway!) and get £100 back for it so 4 months freeYes Your Dukeiness0 -
T mobile do a package called text appeal. No free texts but all texts are charged at 3p regardless of how many texts that are sent. Probably works out better than the o2 deal you are currently on. Vodafone are also doing an offer you get all calls and texts free at the weekend providing you spend over £5 monday to friday. You could incorporate this with the £20 text pack they do. 675 texts for £200

If she tops up by £30 a month she can get 1000 free texts on the o2 '300' free sms sim. 500 for £20 and the usual 300 for £10. With all credit going for calls etc.
It's one of O2's new free allowances. Details on O2's website.0 -
orange contract 3000 for £20, available online, you could bar outgoing calls via a pin on the handset if your worried about her running the bill up

If your daughter is a student (you have to provide UCAS/NUS number) have a look at this from Vodafone. My daughter is also a heavy text user and this was the best we could find. Free Samsung handset, £25/month 18 month contract, UNLIMITED texts, 125 x-net mins (can also use these mins in their "Stop the clock"....phone mobile or landline between 7pm and 8am and only get charged for 1st 3 mins)
