lcd tv warranty

hi, sorry if this is in wrong part, couldnt find anywhere else to post, my lcd tv was knocked over and smashed the inside screen, i have a 5 year extended warranty, when i call them, what happens next, i was told they come to your home and strip tv to bits to identify its the tv under their warranty, is this true, thanks james

    Accidental damage is unlikely to be covered under a TV warranty, more likely to be covered under your Home Contents Insurance.
