  • Most of the systems are too complicated, TV is another one. Why do we have to pay money. Why cannot they run like ITV or other channels.

And the first post after yours answered your question.

The person you spoke to was talking sh1te.

If your parents have a licence (with a c) then you do not need a separate one.

ok, well thanks for the reply, il call the licenCe people up again at end of month :)

Im asking for some advice on a problem i have, whats the big deal? thought this was supose to be a friendly forum, does it matter what my user name is?? no it dont

If ur not going to help then why bother writing anythin, i googled 'cancelling my tv license' and this website came up so i joined

If you are a genuine poster then I give you my apologies, but the forums are full of timewasters who ask for advice then get @rsey when they don't get the answer they want.

Truthman007 - In the UK we have to pay for the services we receive from the BBC. No one likes it, but we get on with it. If you don't like it (as you also don't like any other service provided in the country) live elsewhere!

No worries, ive been lookin through some of the threads n can c y u think that... with 1 person in particular anyway:rotfl: i jus wanna sort this tv licence thing out, its the only 1 thats p***in me off
  • Well, as previous posters have said - what the TV Licence place told you is a load of rubbish. You have cancelled your direct debit, I would just leave it at that.

    From the TV Licence website-
If you’re a lodger and have a relationship with the homeowner – for example, a family member, common law partner, a nanny, au pair or housekeeper.
You’re covered by the homeowner’s TV Licence if they have one, provided you live in the same building. If you live in self contained accommodation such as a separate flat or annex you need your own separate licence.

Can I ask why you feel the need to call them?
As long as you have cancelled your licence and your DD then you need do no more.
We all evolve - get on with it

Because the BBC is funded by the licence (for now) which is why we have to pay it.
If you don't watch live broadcast TV you will not need one.

Cuz i completely disagreed with her that i had to pay when i move, she said i should call back at end of month to make sure the actual licence has been cancelled... i didnt really understand most of what she were sayin.. Should i not call???
cuz i read on other sites that they send threatnin letters, i never told her my mum n dads address either so whatever letters they send will probably come here n my landlord/lettin agent would probably go ape !!!!!!
