Renting without kitchen appliances

You probably want to find another place. If you go out and purchase a fridge, cooker etc., then move, it may not fit in the next place for whatever reason. Give this place a miss.
My main concern would be with the cooker not fitting, especially as we'd need to buy an electrical one. The next move after this rental would be to buy so we would more than likely be looking at gas. Maybe we'll up our offer but bargain for a cooker to be included.0 -
Often a cooker built in to a modern kitchen so it is included in a let. AFAIK any appliance needs safety testing annually which many landlords would find a pain in the rear. Additionally ovens seem to be a common source of disputes about cleaning at the start or end of a tenancy.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Like the landlord in this case i cant be bothered with the upkeep and depreciation that white goods incur--i take the hit on the rental pricemfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0

i'd weigh up whether this property is really worth the extra hassle of having to buy white goods. if it is then go ahead. if not, plenty more properties out there.
i once rented a flat where the previous tenants had bought a washing machine. they were moving overseas so sold the machine to us for £100. it's still going strong several years later and now in my own home. Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0 -

I just recently bought an electric oven and build in electric hob as a package from Wickes for £199. It looks great and the tenants tell me it works marvelously. I don't think that is much of a "hit" as such.FREEDOM IS NOT FREE0

if you dont think you will be there long, have a look at somewhere like R&M rentals (quick 'rent white goods' google just turned them uo first, never used them.)
washer/ dryer, fridge/ freezer, cooker all 4 or 5 quid rental a week. £15 x 4 weeks = £60 a month ish. Compare that to the rent differential?Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
The other option is to see what some of the recycling networks might allow you to get or to check out www.freegle.co.uk - like e-bay but the goods are free and to keep an eye on skips. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
