I've just unsubscribed from receiving tempting emails from 5 companies who've been bombarding my inbox with wonderful offers!

Anyone bold enough to join me?! :D What the eye doesn't see.......etc etc etc!

I have been thinking about this with Brandalley. I know it won't surprise you to hear I haven't been able to do this yet.:o

I was really good yesterday saw the Liz Earle TSV and thought about whether i really need any more products. So i didnt buy anything - my stash is getting smaller and i cant afford it now anyway.
MFW 2016 No 68 £1300/£8500 No new toiletries Cook sth different
  • Rebecca Bloomwood/melonade -How did you manage to get your clean on me to last so long? I've got some clean girls which comes in the same sized bottle as the large clean on me and it lasted me 2.5 months. I'm not huge (size 10) and I'm not OCD about washing either!

Well I use one pump per shower. I use it on a scrunchie thingy (I never know what to call those things! I think S&G call it a sudsy puff?) and that's enough for my whole body. It lathers up so much that I can completely cover myself in suds with that much product. I always point the shower away from me whilst I'm lathering up, maybe that makes a difference?

Or maybe I'm just a smelly tramp! :D
  • Ok, I'll do it in short bursts - I had very little growing up in the 70's and 80's and have never been on my own to do as I pleased, only now do I have money to spend. I was off sick and found this site and the grabbit board and QVC! Now I have so much stuff that will last me til God knows when (no dd's or sisters to pass on to and don't do Ebay). DH is not impressed with my 'bargains' and my cupboards are bursting. Not in debt but money could be put towards fewer pricier(sp?) items that will get used and doing stuff with the kids. I don't NEED anymore stuff but it is the thrill of the hunt and purchasing it - then it sits at the bottom of the wardrobe!
  • I have read this thread from the beginning but always thought I'll catch up first then post -well, there was always so much to read that I never got round to posting :rotfl: I have used up NSpa bath & shower gel, P&P serum, Charles Worthington hair serum, Aveda conditioner WBA no it smelt funny and the smell lasted on my hair! I have NOT bought the Liz Earle TSV, nor got the No7 GWP or any other vouchers from the AC machine and my postal ones are still sitting in my purse (although I will be able to use 3 of them with a mobile top-up for DH).
I am trying and hopefully being part of this forum will help. Gotta go now. Back on later (after my pampering bath). I originally said a lot more but will stick to short posts now. Thanks for the tip about copying SA.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I bought a bottle of Tresemm! for my hair as the Sunsilke is just not doing it for my hair in the winter. One was later, it seems much better. Of course, the shampoo was on special offer (£2.03 in Sainsbury), and I had to get it as there was no way my hair could have kept up with how it was: I've never seen it in such bad condition. Well worth the spend, and I hope I can go back to the Sunsilk when the weather gets a bit better. (Am I the only one to notice how much the price Tresemm! has increased this past year or so? It was dirt-cheap before, and is now quite the opposite...

You poor thing with your eardrum. Hope it heals soon.
Do you really have the same amount as me, or are you just trying to make me feel better:)?
How did you accumulate your stash. I can't for the life of me think when all this started to become such a problem for me.

I'm pretty sure it's about the same amount!! I will be brave later and do a piccie! I'm not really sure when it all started, I know I didn't have many 'nice' things when growing up, so I guess it may be partly to do with and the fact I have my own money. I think I probably have an obsessive/addiction personality type...I used to be obsessed with buying food, sweets chocolate and stuffing them in secret :o. Now I'm trying to lose some weight so my obsession has moved to buying nice toiletries. I'll buy if I'm happy sad, feeling ugly, feeling good. Am anxious to find out what the next obsession will be so I can stop it!! Then there's the buzz of getting a fab bargain! I certainly couldn't pinpoint one particular moment. Possible manic-depressive tendancies? I do hope you are able to pinpoint something so you are able to beat this and enjoy all your lovely things :)

  • I've managed to use up some toiletries today. I had a look at my opened products and decided to use up the ones with hardly any in them. They had enough product in there for a few goes but I can't stand it when bottles only have a bit left - it feels like they're cluttering up the place. Some of you make bottles last for years - am I the only one that gets bored of things after a while then uses a large amount of product every time (even though it's wasting money) just to get rid of something quicker?

Boots Amazon Forest Passionflower and Cupuacu hand and nail cream: I had a small tube in a gift set a year or two ago and loved it, so when I saw the large bottles on sale for around 80p (I think because they were discontinuing it), I bought around 10 of them :o. However I can only get through so much hand cream, and I have also learnt that I get bored of products even if I love them. I have a bottle in 4 rooms in the house, and at work, which means they all go down gradually, but every so often, like I did today, I take an unopened bottle and top up the opened bottles, which gets rid of a bottle :j. I have given away a couple of these and I still have a couple unopened bottles left - I am never bulk buying one product again! WIBA: Well, it's discontinued, and I'm fed up of it now, so no! But it does have the most gorgeous smell - I get loads of compliments on the smell when I apply it at work. It isn't great at moisturising though.

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm: I had this tube for years because I always forgot to use it, so I am now covered in a really thick layer of it to use it up (it does say to apply a thick layer for an intensive mask :D). WIBA: No, it's alright but doesn't do anything amazing for me. I think somewhere I still have a smaller tube from a GWP to use up too, I'll try to remember to use a thin layer of this every now and again.

Creme De La Mer The Refining Facial: I've had this for a couple of years and the tube has actually split down the side so I thought it was time to use it up. WIBA: No, it leaves sparkly particles (diamonds apparently) all over my face - I can wash my face 20 times after using this and I still find sparkly silver bits on my face the next day. Didn't do anything miraculous for my skin either.

Cath Kidston Wild Roses hand cream: There was only a tiny bit left in the tube so I used it up. WIBA: No. I liked the smell, and it's ok at moisturising but I've discovered better since (Crabtree and Evelyn - went a bit overboard on buying these in sets before Xmas - oops).

    Later I will use up:

Naked 'Sea Minerals in the Buff' body scrub: Bought this on sale. WIBA: No, I find it a bit 'boring'; it's ok at moisturising, but I'm not keen on the smell and it doesn't feel very pampering.

Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula lotion: I love the smell of this and the pump bottle makes it so much easier to use. WIBA: I have another unopened bottle, but when that and my other creams are finished I will buy this again occasionally. It smells lovely and moisturises well.

A Lush bath ballistic - it is the weekend!
