Used up the toner today. Fell off the wagon a bit last week as I had to buy some more moisturiser and shampoo but in my defence, I needed those!

  • hello ladies, I love reading this thread. I only ever have one of everything. I tried to post a picture of my stash, because it looks so pathetic.

The procedure for posting a picture is long winded so I couldn't be bothered ... or am I missing something.

eta: used a disposable razor yesterday...wow, I forgot how much worse they are: my legs felt prickly afterward....still, only 19 left to go of them!
Blech, I hate them too. My legs don't feel half done after using one - and don't get me started on underarms :(
  • I need some more shampoo soon, dare I risk the huge 28p Tesco own!? haha

My hair is normally alright with most things, but some things make it really greasy and others really dry, and am allergic to lots, though not been bad since I've moved, I still put a lot of it down to the water at my last place. Have recently found a lovely coconut one for not much in Co-op, so might go with that again.

Does it sound okay to buy both as it's only 28p and at worst I can use it up as shower gel/hand wash? (Could I?!) Have I justified it?!

Edit: Tara, that's gorgeous! I was looking for some ramekins yesterday (along with little mousse pots) and put both back on the shelf, being good... I wish I hadn't opened your link now!!!

  • Hello all. First of all thank you ladies for being so kind and patient and generally lovely human beings, your kind posts have really cheered me up. Mental health issues can cause so many problems within families as well as being quite isolating, its not always easy to tell your friends and family you had a carp day because your husband went of the handle, so a virtual oulet is often very helpful, again thanks for listening:A. I do go on some mental health forums, but i sometimes find it a bit all consuming iykwim. You dont always need or want to go into details (often you just want to get away from it) just a sympathetic ear.

Anyway, on a another note welcome to all the newbies, lots of lovely ladies with some great tips, advice and plenty of humour on here.

Well i actually finished a satsuma shower gel from the BS, was a gift, WIBA, no, its nice and refreshing but as ive said before im not really a fruity type of girl, give me a product that smells of baked goods and im there:rotfl:. Although i have been completely bypassing the toiletry aisle at waitrose:eek::A.
To all those having ebay nightmares, keep at it, i had a buyer who claimed id sent her body lotion instead of conditioner:rotfl:!! Funily enough eventhough she opened a case she failed to return the product in its original condition, so paypal closed the case in my favour yeah. This was recent by the way, i do think there are a few more unscrupulous buyers on ebay now as they are aware that paypal tends to rule in the buyers favour in most cases.
Right got to go make dinner now, been out with the kids all morning, went to Hickory Dickory, its like a gigantic Wacky warehouse and my head is still spinning:p. Kids loved it though. Its gonna be kidney bean curry tonight, whats everyone having, you know how nosey i am.

    Sorry for the long post

    Nab

    xx

I'll need to pop to Boots and get some more foundation, I never have spares, I don't seem to stockpile make up the same way I do with toiletries. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm willing to try something new and my budget is usually about £20 - £25 for foundation, I do think you get what you pay for with a good one. I'll use points to pay so I don't feel too bad about it.....
Now, to sort out this ebay nightmare....

The one foundation in Boots that's appealing to me at the moment is from Max Factor, it might be called "second skin", I'm not certain, I'd need to see the bottle BUT this costs almost as much as the Clinique one and as others have mentioned the GWP at Debenhams is lovely so if I were you I might get that instead and keep the points for the next half price hatbox or other must have from Boots.

Re foundation, I know everyone raves about it but Estee Lauder Doublewear really is fab.

I've only learned about this recently. Estee Lauder is not a brand I look at normally but I asked for the foundation sample. When I was applying it I hated it, it's very thick so difficult to apply compared with other brands which are much more fluid/liquid BUT it was fabulous on, lasted all day and looked as good when I was taking it off in the evening. Now it's on my wanted list.
    morning all

down the docs this morning so now have a big tube of hydrocortosine cream and E45 added to my stash, not sure if ive developed an allergy to some body lotion or what torso is red raw and itching like a devil i look like i have burns across my tum

:( I had a rash a few years ago and being slightly vain I went running to the doctor. I was given the hydrocortisone/steroid cream too. A few days later it wasn't gone so I went back to the doctor again, was given antibiotics for 7 days....Very slowly the rash cleared up and has never come back but I think the stress it caused made it worse. I don't think it was the cream or the antibiotics that cleared it up, it was going to go away by itself anyway.

So my point is don't stress too much about it, rashes are really common and it's almost impossible to diagnose what's causing them unless it's a very obvious reaction to a beauty product. Use the cream sparingly and chances are 1-2 wks form now it'll be gone.

I couldn't resist another purchase:o The Soap and Glory deodorant, no I didn't need it but it was €3.99 and much cheaper than the Debenhams Clinique GWP which I did resist.
