Gas on card meter with British Gas, want to change
Comments

Have been looking into moving to ebico and found that ideally its best they have the bill in all the tenants names rather than one single name as its a student house. I know it wont matter so much for the card meter but the electric is not card and I wouldnt want my daughter being left with 3 months electric to pay
Also wanted to say here that when I rang I was told that the prices on ebico site are probably going to rise in September as they have not had a rise since last September and these increases will be made known from I think she said 19th August.
If they sign up to change to them and then the price increase makes them more expensive than other suppliers can they cancel as it may not have gone through by the time the new prices are made known?Thanx

you have a 14 day cooling off period. If it's outside the 14 days then no, they cannot cancel the switch.
You should be aware that a supplier may ask for a security deposit to change a card meter to credit, if there is any doubt over the credit check, ie if the risk is high. As students this may be quite likely. Your daughter needs to ask about this before doing anything. It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -
I know my daughters ok with credit checks as she has one when she gets her mobile phones, I'm not sure about the others though. If they all have their names on the account if one of them fails the credit check (i didnt even know there was one) does it put the others in bad credit rating?Thanx

It is probably the best bet for them to keep the prepay meter..
I know a lot of friends who had real trouble getting people to pay when bills arrived when they lived in a student house..
they got a prepay meter put in instead and took turns to put £10 credit on it..that way it was a smaller lump to pay regularly and meant everyone kept it up, as otherwise the gas / electric would cut off and no one was happy!Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0
