Fuel Cost

I have used CH3000 before and have been very happy. This time I called them to get a quote for PHX - LAS rental. I mainly called to double check that there was no one way fee but then the agent told me that all the suppliers have now switched to full pickup-empty return fuel policy which I don't like but can put up with. However, he also went to say that I will be charged USD60 for the fuel when I pick up a compact car and went to try to push me to buy the premium package for an extra GBP35 as he claimed I will be saving money. The extra driver benefits is no use to me so the GBP35 will be the cost of a tank of fuel.

I would have estimated that the initial fuel charge would be around USD35. Is he correct? Have the prices increased so much? Anyone recently paid for a compact car and can tell me how much it was?

Cheers

Gas was around $3 per US gallon when I went in June last year so $60 is about "right" for the compact car.
    IIRC mine was about $50.

I filled up my Mazda3 today. It was running on fumes. Cost $27.

    Gas in Ohio is $2.33
Gas in Vegas is $265 by the looks... so should be about $30 to fill up.

PS - Check Gas Prices here... http://www.cincygasprices.com/Map_Gas_Prices.aspx (Does all of the US. Put in city, state required)
