how can anyone say that the value is insignificant.
This piece of land may not seem like much now, but what about it's worth in 10 years time. i know we're talking about a small piece of land, but in theory, you need to be compensated for your loss of value of the life of the property.
This might be £100 per year, which can easily be £1000 in 10 years time (if not more due to rising land and property prices) plus, he'll earn more than that on the value of his property
to those who are of the mind of "only 6 ft" and "what's the point", i say "it's my land and it's worth something to me, or future owners, regardless of my current useage - hypothetically ask your next door neighbours for this much land, how much do you think it would cost you?
in my area it could cost a few thousand pounds for 6 feet0
