cashing my sons cheque

Uh... that makes no sense. If they wanted HER to decide what to do with it, they'd make it payable to HER. By writing a cheque to the child, it's obviously got to be paid into an account MANDATED IN THE CHILDS NAME.They obviously gave the OP a cheque (albeit in her child's name) so that SHE could decide what to do with it.0 -

Good grief, its no wonder people ask questions and then don't come back.
What made anyone think the OP was going to use it to pay debts with?
I frequently send cheques for birthdays etc. to my friends children. I don't expect the money to be put into a trust fund that no one can touch. Generally the money goes into a building society account in the child's name and I get a letter back saying what they have used it for. Admittedly they are six and seven, but the same principle applies.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0
