Any left handed oldstylers?

I'ma leftie and use the kind of tin opener that takes the top off the can. We have no left-handed gadgets in this house as, like many, I grew up in a world where they didn't exist.
I have heard that one in ten people are 'left-handed' but of those, only one in ten is truly left-handed. The rest are on a scale of being ambidextrous. That's me, I think.
Just as an aside, I have been doing an informal 'survey' over the years and have found very few brown-eyed left-handed people. Most of us seem to be blue or green eyed. Why?0 -
I'm brown eyed, as are my dad and my fil who are also lefties. I'm very lefthanded btw, can't do a thing with my right hand. Of course I have superior intelligencePatchwork_Quilt wrote: »

I'm left handed as well, (green eyes), just been downstairs to check which hand I use for the tin opener. I hold in my left hand and turn with right hand. If I'd have been asked before this, I'd have said tin openers are left handed. But obviously not.
Now cheque books, I could go on

Which hand do you put your knife and fork? My argument is that it's left-handed to have the fork in your left hand and the knife in your right as the fork does most of the work, and if you were to just use your fork you wouldn't need to swap over. I have the fork in my left hand, but my two right-handed brothers had theirs in their right hands. So do my two eldest children who are both right-handed.0

Fork in the left hand is right handed, because you're using the dominant hand to control the sharp knife!
I hold my fork in my right hand.0 -
oohhhh this is so interesting!! I am very left handed...and have green eyes!!
My sister is also left handed , but not as bad as me and her eyes are dark brown!!
Being left handed is also dangerous....My nanna once stabbed me with a knitting needle whilst "trying" to teach me to knit....as I was useless!! (in a joking way!!!)
It is also handy sometimes as both my mum and aunties would rather iron themselves than watch me iron as it drove them potty watching how awkward I was!!LBM Total: £33356 15/11/09  £6085.63 paid

Gave up trying to teach dd to knit, she couldn't do it right handed and neither of us could work out what she should be doing if trying left handed!
net result was lots of wool where it should'nt be and some knots!!!0 -
I'm a brown eyed leftie too!!
I need left handed scissors, but everything else is standard right-handed stuff although I do struggle with a tin opener. I seem to be more ambidextrous than many righties that I know - ie I will iron the right side of a garment holding the iron with my right hand, then swap over for the left side. I so the same when cleaning my teeth, but cannot use right handed scissors at all. This is really interesting, would love to hear how other people manage.0 -

Apparently the best way to teach a left-hander to knit or sew is to have them sitting opposite you rather than next to you.0
