Mumof2 - do you need the cash? If yes I'd go for the other job for now and maybe save your wages to pay for the course. You will then still have an income whilst you hopefully get a thriving signing business off the ground. Good luck.

My goodness Dusty, that's absolutely the most sensible option. I would never have thought of it. It seems terribly unfair that I have jack-all common sense. I speak four languages, have no problem with algebra and can even program a dvd player, but a sensible solution to a relatively simple problem evades me every bloody time. I would've just jumped in head-first and signed up for the signing lessons. Maybe I'm seeing a pattern to why I'm eternally poor. :(

One of my friends was with me while I was cutting some material for a new dress the other day and she said to me "If you pin your pattern to the rear side of the fabric, you can mark out any darts without it showing on the front.". This was a revelation to me. I've been making my own clothes for a year and it never once occurred to me that using the wrong side of the fabric! :o

Been pondering whilst I have been walking (and getting covered with mud - thank heavens for waterproof trousers!) I'm going to just go for the Manor Hall job and see what happens. If I do my typing job and, if I was lucky enough to get it, the MH job, I'd be bringing in hopefully at least £300 per month which will definitely help won't it. I think deep down I'm just not confident enough to sit in front of a class of mums and tots singing; DH will be disappointed but hey, such is life.

Many thanks for all your helpful advice; you know how it is when your head is in turmoil with everything I'm sure.

Right, cup of tea and then it's time to dig out the iron methinks ;)

You know you are just feeding those old studentphil rumours :rotfl::rotfl:

Teenage SS has just appeared and asked me if I know the hall smells *rolleyes*. Yes, says I. He then tells me he thought the dog had done something horrid when he went up to bed last night but he didn't check. Grounds for justifiable homicide? Stupid mutt has been for a nice roll in one of the compost heaps and stinks again. I am now even less of a dog person :(.

Note to self - reason No 78 on the list of why I am never having a dog ;)

There is a lot to be said for SP rumours - I've never see Pigpen post on a SP thread;)

I am proud to tell you all I only have one user id and have only ever had one, if you want to read any of my words of wisdom, drivel, despair, humour or general chit chat you will find them all under my post count.

    Hard floors hooverd and mopped.

Going to check on DS3 before doing something else off my list

As others have said, this is a sensible route. And you can look into the signing in the meantime. As hex says, do your market research, work out the costs, and find out what qualifications (if any) you need and where you can get them. There may be a cheaper way e.g. adult education service if you take it as a long term goal. You could also do a couple of informal sessions in friends' homes to see how interested people are.

Boring meeting over... washing removed from WM and bunged in dryer.

Need to get some work done :o

[ That means getting the ladder out... I don't do heights - my ceilings are 9' 6" high - I am going to stubbornly substitute this for doing those light fittings I can reach WITHOUT getting the ladder out... :p.

    Soapie,

    That would be castle then?;),

    Love H
