We live in a flat and I use the laundrette for towels, covers, sheets. Its better to air dry clothes as it makes them last longer. But towels and stuff.. I figure, meh.Aim - BUYING A HOUSE  by November 2013!Saved = 100% on 03/07/12 :j0

In 80's I used laundrettes in flats but as soon as I coudl afford a washing machine I got one
It was a right pain going right in to town spending most of day doing weekly wash
I live in a fairly big town all laundrettes (4) I know about and I know my town like back of my hand have all closed down part from one and I think it only does hotels0 -
I lived in a tiny flat in France with a very nice and quiet launderette just over the road- it was great to be able to pop my clothes in, go home, and come back 45 mins later to stick them in the dryer! The dryers were quite variable though, so I would stay then to keep checking and topping up with 50c pieces.
The only downside was having a takeaway with no tables next door- when the launderette owner wasn't in the back room, the seating would be taken up by lads from the school where I worked eating chips and dripping kebab sauce everywhere! They always let me sit down when I was using the dryers, but the place stank of doner meat and the owner was not happy when she returned after her own lunch at home...0 -
I've been using my local launderette since my washing-machine died back in October and I can't afford to replace it right now. It costs either £2.40 for a domestic-volume machine or £3.60 for a huge one. Drying usually costs about a pound or a bit more depending on the weight of the fabrics. It's nearly always empty when I go there so I hope they're making money at other times or I'll be stuffed.
I live in a flat with no balcony and drying laundry at home in the winter is tricky. Too much condensation. I don't want damp and mould developing0 -
I use my laundrette for drying large items, such as the towels and bedding in the winter. I wash the lot and put 3 loads in the drier, which costs me £1.80 to dry. I think that is really cheap! Consequently I don't have all that extra moisture in my house either.0
