at time there was no injury two days later phoning daughter asking for money .if he had a broken collar bone he would have been in agony and not been able to ride his bike 5 miles up the road. we do not know where he got our address but my daughters phone is registered so he might have got it through that.also why did he leave going to hospital next day and also one 15 miles away when there are 2 casualties before the one he went to.

It is clear he has had another accident in the intervening time for which he has no-one else to blame. He has therefore seen your daughter as an easy scapegoat. The points you raise are valid and you must make sure her insurer knows that this is what has happened. What he is doing is attempting to defraud your daughter's insurers and as long as you plant that seed and keep reinforcing it hopefully this chancer will get everything he deserves (and I don't mean a payout from your daughter's insurance).

I will just say thought that the driver who hit me did not know I was injured as at first I thought I was okay and when she broke down in tears, I didn't have the heart to tell her that I had developed a pain in my arm (which a year later I am still having treatment on). However, if he had broken his collar bone he would not as you say have been able to go on his way on his bike so I am sure he is trying to claim for injuries sustained elsewhere.

thanks bossyboots i dont mind genuine claims but blatant scams make me angry. at no time when he was asking my daughter for money did he say he had a broken collarbone only weeks later did we find out this from her insurance company and yes we are going to fight it all the way. its nice to know that there are some people out there like yourself who are decent and honest when you should have had some compensation.
