tescos new online shopping website

I used their 'new' site the other day for the first time (2 cards and one is new site and one is still old site). Have to say it was awful. Really like the old site sooo much better. ~ Why can't they update the old one instead of making a completely new one? Yes, some things have improved but so many things are a step back. I love the 'edit your note' thing on the old site when you could change or substitute when you added the item but the new one was confusing and didn't keep my settings as I wanted them after I logged out.
I'll go back to the card with the old site until I have to use the new one!
Re: ringing their helpline, I've only rung it a handful of times but never had a problem.Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A

Mine is still the old one but I live just around the corner so to be honest only use them for home delivery when i get bonus points for doing it lol!! I prefer Asda. Have people who are having difficulties ordering tried doing the order through mysupermarket.com (via ipoints for 400points for the first shop PLUS 1 point per pound?). You do the whole shop with them which is so easy to navigate, then it sends the whole basket to tescos or asda etc for checkout at the end - that might help unless the problems are with checkout?MSE-ing since 20070

I've used the new Tesco site a couple of times now and I do find it hard going. On the old site if say you searched "broccoli", it would come up with a header containing all the different areas you might find something with the word broccoli in it, e.g. frozen, fresh, soups. So when you clicked on one of those options, you didn't have pages and pages to wade though.
I prefer the 'view basket' page, but if it's going to take me ages to find stuff and nicer page there won't make me want to shop with them.
Have shopped online with Tesco for years - have always found them good, helpful and prompt with any refund - and their telephone staff are very good.0 -
I use my supermarket, it makes it easier to use tesco and asda.... both are annoying!Feb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790

I wish they would display the calories and things like mysupermarket does.0

UPDATE FROM MONDAY
still was unable to order Tuesday but as my dad still has the old website I placed an order on his account for delivery to my address for wednesday 5-7pm. Nothing arrived by 8pm so we rang customer services who were very apologetic & helpful & looked into this for us. They rang back & said the order had been cancelled by the store! the man including 2 supervisors could not find out why the order was cancelled or why we were not contacted about it.
The only suggestion they made was to place a whole new order for the next day (given the late time there was no chance of next day delivery) & they would TRY to get it delivered between 9-11am.
This was ridiculous & would probably be another waste of time so I gave up & am now going to have to shop in store which being I have had an iffy tummy this week I really didn't want to have to do.
Never really had any major problems with Tesco before but this week has been infuriating & a total shambles.Puddle Jumper 10 -
still not working a week later so rang customer service again! apparently it's a problem that's just effecting a handful of customers & they suggested opening another account that I should hopefully be able to order ok with. Will give it a go & let report back.Puddle Jumper 10

ok so I have been told by Michelle in customer services that there seems to be the same problem which is affecting just a few customers & they are trying to resolve it.
In the meantime it was suggested to try opening a new account which I did by using a different e-mail address to my original Tesco's account.
I went thru quidco too so got £5 thru them plus the £10 voucher new customer code & managed to place an order which was delivered yesterday evening (with a few problems but nothing serious).
This might help others that were getting the 'ERROR UNABLE TO CREATE ORDER' error message at the final stage of checkout.Puddle Jumper 10 -
The most annoying thing for me when doing online shopping with Tesco is having to add a note to every single item to say that I don't want a substitute.

Does anyone know if there is a way of telling them that you do not want substitutes for any item you ever buy?0 -

Unless its changed on the new site (still only have access to the old one) when you check out there should be an option called Substitutions. Click that and you then have the option for do not substitute any items.0
