Buying Mobile off Ebay (bb9700)

What is the general opinion of buying off ebay?. Im now looking at getting a bb9700 and cannot find one anywhere new for less than £350. Ebay is now looking a realistic option for me but i dont want to get fingers burnt (duff handset).

There does not seem to be enough of a difference as people seem to be getting bids well into the £300's on this handset. I would not go with ebay unless there was a substantial discount to be had.

Hmm, PayPal does offer protection, up to £500 I think. If its a duff handset then it'll be easy to tell I guess. Also, check the ebay feedback of the seller, otherwise it's always going to be the riskier option. Although I don't mislead buyers and I've never bought a product that hasn't been as described, there's countless stories of people who have as you'll know.

Not sure i'd risk it with something like the bb9700 either, it's always good too have peace of mind with a phone. When i got my first 9700 the top soft-click button on the handset was dodgy, was a defective handset. It was easy to sort out though, and well worth buying direct from Orange.
