BT now Blocking 1899&18866 overides.

    As has already been pointed out when you dial an indirect access code like 18185/1899 the call leaves BT. Possible reason for the announcement 18185/1899 have bought some spare call capacity from BT and are rerouting some of their call traffic via them,and the network has become congested.

    If you can dial a UK number via 18185/1899 and you get through as i just did ,then BT cant possibly be blocking your 18185/1899 access.

    Yes.

    However, having overcome the described problem by using one of the others (I have accounts will all 3), using that phrase put the point across more clearly.
    Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
