Honeymoon Suggestions?

Egypt is good for a standard holiday - especially during our cold months but no way would I go for honeymoon expect to get the trotts once for every week you are there - even if you don't leave the hotel.
thriftybeatnik - It would help to know what your budget is, how long you want to be away for and what time of year you want to goHad a thrifty wedding 17-06-10
expecting triplets in Jul/ Aug 2012 :eek::eek::eek::grinheart:grinheart:grinheart0 -
Top of my list is the Galapogas Islands and the Inca trail. We'd both love to go, but can't really justify the expense without a darn good reason. Not really everyone's cup of tea though- especially if you want a nice relaxing beach holiday.
When are you getting married? That might help a bit?0 -
I would love to do a tour of America like Miami, orlando, New York, Boston, LA, Las Vegas this sort of thing
still to convince h2b0 -
were booking last minute as were hoping to get money towards our honeymoon as wedding presents.
my H2B went to Cancun for his first honeymoon and hated it, stay in the complex situation and my sister went to Egypt as said the same as the above posts.
My H2B wants to go to Cuba whereas i would like to be just another honeymooner going to the Maldives, my brother went on his honeymoon and said it truly is paradise.
is it to be a surprise or can you ask your partner where shed like to go?0 -
I think your all wrong about Egypt...they must have gone to the wrong places!! Ive even bought property there.
Its the friendlist, safest place, yes u have to understand there culture, but dont u anywhere?
dont know why they told u not to wear shorts lol...yes if u go to a religious place then u have to cover ur shoulders and knees, but other than that bikini is ok!!0 -
Fuerteventura - is good but it can be a bit quiet or Lanzarote or Gran Canaria.
Depending on your budget you could try Phuket or look as far as Oz. Avoid the Dominican Republic as it is like a prison camp as you cannot really venture off your hotel complex.
The Channel Islands are pretty good as are The Scilly Isles.
We went to the Dominican in Sept and had a brilliant time, we took our two children and went safely of the complex without hassel.
As for our honeymoon, we're still trying to figure out if we can afford one or not, have been looking at going to Kenya which is coming in pretty reasonable, or just to go somewhere in the UK, we like the look of Faweather grange, lovely log cabin with private hot tub!
What's your budget?0 -
I think South Africa is a great place & Sun City would make a fantastic place to spend part of your honeymoon. You could combine several things in one holiday; Sun City, Kruger Park (or another reserve) & possibly some time visiting places.
We have relatives in SA & I think we would take my Dad(!) he could look after our children for a few days whilst we have our honeymoon on our own followed by a family holiday.0 -
We're off to South Africa - one week on horseback safari (my dream holiday for years!) and one week in Kruger national park. Though we're having to leave it 6 weeks after the wedding to avoid the World Cup! This is NOT in the least bit MSE, costing more than the rest of the wedding put together.
But it so depends on the season and what sort of holiday you're after.0 -
my daughter got married last year, and was lucky enough to get her honeymoon as a present from her grandma,. she could choose anywhere in the world and she picked................................Sutherland, in the north of Scotland. They had a wonderful time, good weather, good food, but best of all peace and quiet and time alone together, after the madness of the wedding arrangements,0
