Pregnancy & Life Insurance

Hi,
I hope you can help with a question.
I think that an appropriate time to take out / increase life insurance is if you find out that you're going to become a parent.
Does anyone have any experience of getting life cover for a pregnant partner?
I vaguely remember seeing lots of exclusions for pregnancy in previous life insurance policies I've seen.

Not exactly what you are after but this may be useful to other new parents who read the thread. Aviva have a free policy http://www.aviva.co.uk/our-latest-tv-ads/new-parent.html £10000 life cover for each parent up until babies 1st birthday.
Hopefully someone will be along to advise on a policy that would suit you.Booo!!!0 -
What do you want to insure against?
What do you forsee as going wrong with a pregnant partner that you would want insurance against her specifically?0 -
Hi,
My intention would be to insure both of us for a significant sum so that if the worst ever happened and either or both of us died then our child would be safe and financially secure. For example, if I kicked the bucket and didn't have any life cover then my partner would no longer be able to afford the mortgage. In the event of something happening to my partner then I'd be able to afford the childcare costs.0 -

Might get a better response in the Insurance/life assurance section http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=21Booo!!!0
