Orange Credit Check-Should I be worried?

Hi there i purchased a 18 month contract(14 months free) through buymobilephones.net. They have emailed me back saying that orange have requested 3 forms of ID. Two letters with address and Photo ID. This is very strange cos last month i checked i had an excellent credit score with experian. I was also with Orange last year with a 12 month contract with no problems. I have emailed buymobilephones with the relevant info and they are just waiting for a decision. Why has this happened and should i be worried?

Seems a bit of an odd info request especially the photo's. I could understand the letters to confirm address, but then (unless you've not mentioned) the letters would need to be utility bills/bank statements, etc. After all anyone can just type up a letter with an address on it. Also I would have expected that you would need to send the original letters and not scans as they can be tampered with. I suppose all you can do is wait. plus check that the email you received was a genuine one from buymobilephones and not a scam just to get identity

It was definitely genuine..... I rang them to confirm. They said I could email them scans so I emailed them one bank statement, one mobile phone bill and my driving license. I just hope they accept because I really like the tariff they are offering at the moment sooo...

P.S...Will i now have to pay them a deposit??

I just find it strange as i only ended a contract with them a year ago...hmmm. Does anyone know how long it will take orange to get back to me regarding this, the scans were emailed yesterday?

if we send something to refferals hopefully we hear something back within the hour (as in we have to keep ringing back to check) it will also depend on how long it takes the dealer to send it off and usually we have to send it a few times for them to recieve it!!
if they are efficient no longer than a day if not a few days

So what sort of response should I expect..... just a simple yes/no also what will they use the information for(bank statement/mobile bill and driving license)? This is the sort of info i use to open a bank account so i can prove my address.

    they could-
-ask for more proofs which i doubt seeing as theyve got 3 already
-different proofs (very likely they are fussy [once got in a strop becuase they wanted to see a customers bill and all she had was a final demand notice which they said was not technically a bill!])
    - decline
    -say yes
-say yes but only with a deposit or certain conditions eg direct debit etc
