I'll update this.
So I may have been missing the Java update for update for many months.
I've been having a bit of a nightmare with Broadband speed this evening.
Checking my installed software, I noticed 2 different Java updates were showing,
Java Update 13 & Update 7 together (I only mentioned Update 13 in my earlier post).
Not sure if that's right or wrong.
I installed Update 18, which replaced the Update 13.
No real change in Pc behaviour.
I then removed Update 7.
I think behaviour may have changed.
I'll check today & tomorrow to see if it really has changed.0 -
When using Internet Explorer 7, some website pages finish loading very slowly.
http://www.theargus.co.uk/
The main part of page loads ok, but the adverts load 45 seconds later !!
During this my scroll bar on right of page is locked, so I cannot scroll contents of article which is really annoying.
It's looking good. :T
Repeating this as test where I was having problem, it seems to load much faster & smoother with no real delay. Scroll bar is not locked.
I probably had this problem for years !0 -

I first noticed problem years ago with ebay, which I think maybe has become Java intensive. I then started using Firefox for ebay.
Thinking it was problem with VirginMedia Broadband, I got engineer in 2-3 times, with limited success. I'd have to check, but it was a good few years ago, maybe 3-4 years, like you say !!0 -
Kyler_IE8_Team wrote: »One thing that can really slow dow Internet Explorer is running lots of Add-ons. I recommend going under the Tools menu, selecting Manage Add-Ons, and disabling most, if not all of them.
Have disabled all of following in Manage Add-ons:
Add-ons currently loaded in Internet Explorer
Add-ons that run without requiring permission
Downloded ActiveX Controls (32-bit)
Can't see any problems so far.
Can disabling Add-ons cause other problems or will IE just load or warn you if it needs something ??0 -
flash may stop working.!!

Please post the hijack log then (As you have trojans) ~
Please run COMBOFIX
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
Shut down your anti virus
Follow the simple instructions it gives
Post the COMPLETE log it creates here (Split into sections if need be)
If it comes up with a RENAMING error then RIGHT click the exe file and RENAME and call it QWERTY (Making the complete file name 'QWERTY.exe') Or SAVE as 'QWERTY' on download:idea:0
