help with a doggy interier mirror

advise please, got into the car this morning. leant over to the passenger side to unfold the left exterior mirror and ended up knocking the interior mirror off the windscreen.

A bit of the windscreen has come away with the mirror. Any suggestions on what to do?

Are you sure a bit of the screen has come off and not just the plastic mirror backing pad? If it is the screen, get it changed. I'm guessing that the mirrors been off before and someone stuck it back on with superglue (causing the damage).

use either glue to put it back, this may not work......

or a piece of good quality double sided sticky pad
  • Go to your local motor factor and get a loctite mirror adhesive kit. The sticky pads don't work as well but can be improved by heating the mirror and screen with a hairdrier.
I have a lot of problems with my neighbours, they hammer and bang on the walls sometimes until 2 or 3 in the morning - some nights I can hardly hear myself drilling ;)

A doggy mirror - a bit ruff is it?

The double-sided kit from your local parts dealer is the thing.
You do have to clean the screen and the back of the mirror mounting well with pure alcohol or something before applying it.

Given my experience with those foam pads that hold number plates on (evil things when it comes to removing them) I guess they'd work pretty well for this too :rotfl:

I do like a bit of doggy in the car. Police keep knocking on the window and arresting me though

Make sure you clean the area you're sticking it too well with Methylated Spirits and let it dry. I would recommend no more nails double sided tape.

When I read the thread title I thought it was a special mirror for checking your dog is behaving himself in the back of the car!

Like the ones driving instructors have so they can check if you are MSMing correctly!
