My son tried to setup a password on his laptop and must have typed it in wrongly on set up because the password he thought he put in is not being accepted.
We triesd loads iof different variations but nothing gets us in.
Does anyone know any tricks to get in and fix this with a new password.
tried to find a way through the BIOS but nothing is working?

Hopefully someone more informed on win7 will come along but I know on XP if you set up another user you can change other users passwords through the Control Panel.
Maybe that will work?
Or try going in through Safe Mode?0 -
google for reset admin/user password, fairly simple to do. Is number and caps lockoff or on?0

You can use Method Three in this tutorial. (works for Windows 7)

The way I read your initial post is that a BIOS password was set up. Is this the case? Or was it a User Account password?vinylmusic wrote: »Still seeking a solution

If you have another Administrator-type account on the laptop, then (as has been suggested) simply log on to this account, go into Control Panel, and reset the password of the failing account.
Otherwise follow Browntoa's suggestion. He can invariably be relied on...0 -
well if hes only just got the laptop why dont you just shove windows back in as hes got nothing to lose? sort of seems obvious to me0
