want to move my v+ box

Options
Hopefully someone can help.

I have Virgin phone, broadband, and tv.
The TV is in the bedroom but I want to move it to the main room as I don't want to pay sky as well. Is it possible to move the box.

Current set up seems that the cable comes in and is split one to broadband and one cable goes upstairs. My concern is that simply replacing the lead that goes upstairs with one that goes to the tele downstairs won't work.

Hi Browntoa, thats what I can't understand. The engineer put a wall box in the bedroom as well. I assumed, probably incorrectly, that the cable from outside was the tele one.

As long as you connect it using a like for like ( but shorter ) cable it should be just fine.

    sorry for being thick.

If I replace the black cable that goes upstairs with a white one similar to the broadband cable coming from the other splitter socket it should work.

You cannot use any old cable for a VM install!!!!
Your existing set up is split in the ETB box outside therefore an ISOLATOR is required at each point.
So you want to move your TV to the same room as the broadband, correct?
You should have a box like this on the wall
    isolator.jpg

Remove the cover & inside you will see the ISOLATOR (See pic)

If you have this type, remove the cable from the existing TV point & connect to the TV connection on the ISOLATOR.The should be a 75Ohm nipple cap on the unused port, put that on the port you remove the cable from. <THIS IS IMPORTANT!

If you only have a single port ISOLATOR,you can buy the correct type here-
