Hi, I am looking at getting espn after watching it for free last weekend, I am a bit confused though, I could watch it through my tv freeview channel 34 last week but if I go on the espn website it says I need to go through top up tv and to buy a special viewing card? Does anyone know if its possible just o watch it on channel 34 on freeview?
Many thanks

It was unscrambled as a "promo" last weekend - its back to being a pay channel - IF you have a freeview box or TV set which accommodates a card via slot then you can go thru top up TV - If no slot then - no0

Hi there,
The ESPN signal was simply decrypted for the weekend as a promo to everyone with digital TV, meaning that anyone with a freeview box could access the pictures.
ESPN is a pay-tv channel, therefore the signal is encrypted, meaning only those who have purchased the viewing card can access the pictures. When the viewing card is inserted it in effect proves that you have paid for ESPN, and it decrypts the signal.
It is not possible to watch through freeview any other way. Sorry!Profit=sanity
