    we're not proud about our accomodation so we're gonna stay in a youth hostel.

    stayed there before - it was $30 a night each! and we had a private room - me and 5 girls ;)

    I stayed there a year ago. Its not like roughing it as such - but its not that bad at all.

    Its up near the top of central park so about a 20 min subway journey from downton. We got a limo back one night - must have looked like a right bunch of **** pulling up to a youth hostel in a limo!

    Rooms are really clean - shared bathrooms, but so long as you dont mind that - then nothing to lose.

    There's a mixed group of 7 of us going now - sneaked a few more in before midnight. So given we'll be shopping, drinking and eating, we dont really care too much about a fancy hotel.

    Just checked again without any links or promos and the same flight we booked at 148 is now 512!!!

    How glad am I that I looked on MSE tonight!

    I decided that it was a good deal too far, I just couldn't fit a trip in.

    FYI, the dates I was looking at have gone from £75 each way to £204.

    So a good deal for those who went for it and a really good find by the OP.

    Some other destinations are still the same price they were yesterday. For example, Hong Kong is still available for £300 RTN for dates until March 2007.
  • The cheapest I can get for Hong Kong is £383. Is the £300 including all the taxes?

    If so, what dates did you put in?

    Hong Kong is £300RTN (inc taxes) for certain departures from Nov 1 through Dec 7 and Dec 25 through March 22.

    Mon-Thurs provide the cheapest travel days.
