At what price do you believe SOGA starts applying, i was under the impression it was at any value. Obviously you know different.

OP, as they had more in stock, could you not have had a replacement instead?

The OP happily accepted the opinions given (refer to post #3). I think it was the fact people branded her as rude even though she was well within her rights (remember that they werent going to do anything at all until she pressed the matter further).

I would use it for things like household appliances, not a cheap ASDA top.

I think its a case of how much the individual is willing to waste.

I don't think that solodanceparty implied that SOGA didn't apply more like that after months of wear a £6 top wasn't really worth fussing about. I personally wouldn't bother unless it was quite new or only washed once or twice but the OP did but seemed miffed that only a partial refund was given. In this case, as others have said, Asda acted perfectly reasonably.
  • Thanks OlliesDad for your post. And no they didn't have anymore in stock.

IvoryTinkler yes I was miffed but only because I didn't know the law on it and neither did Asda!

I may have ranted an raved on here about this but I DID NOT rant and rave in the shop, and when you say I TOLD them I wanted a refund I actually just said I WOULD LIKE a refund.

Anyway thanks everyone for the replies, no more now please!!!!!

We've only had one side of the story, I reckon if the staff were here they'd tell us another story about how this rude customer came in misquoting the SOGA and demanding a refund (when she's not entitled to it) over a £6 jumper she bought months ago. Sounds like a nightmare customer to me.

This rings a bell lol!! forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2228621
