Hi and welcome to the PPI threads.

Just as long as you have account numbers to the loans then you can still try to make a reclaim, althoug it does help to have some paperwork to support your case.

You could request for a SAR (Subject access request) where they have 40 days to comply/send you all the info they hold on you, there is a charge of £10 for this request, post by recorded delivery if you can for your proof of posting.
Link to SAR letter template here:

However, if you still bank with the same bank when you were paying your loans, the account numbers should be shown next to the monthly repayments, so if you no longer have these statements and bank online this should allow you to go back about 6 years, you can track them down this way.

    For more on reclaiming here:

Check this out, this is the useful guidelines of reclaiming with template letters and so on, they have 8 weeks in full to respond, again its suggested to post by recorded delivery.

Hope this helps, but please give us a yell when you require any help, and please keep us posted, good luck.;)

Just give them a ring and ask. I phoned them today about a loan i took out in 2006. They have a special phone number to ring where they are dealing with the PPI claims. All i told them was my name and address and they found the loan. They're sending me a copy of the origional loan agreement but i had to put that in writing and include a cheque for just £1.

    that's fairly normal !!
  • I was talking with my husband last night about this subject and he told me we did receive some paperwork from A&L regarding claiming PPI , he thought because our loan had been paid off it was just junk and shredded it arrrggghh. I am worried as im still a customer of A&L that if i pursue it they will remove our overdraft which we rely on. ive actually printed off the SAR should i send it or should i phone them first. and would i ring thier regular phone line. confused!!!!! helen xxx

    Hi there

    They should not do this.
Your in your own right to reclaim what is rightfully yours, and if they did then if it were me, I would contact the Office of Fair Trading (OFT).

    good luck.;)

Open up another current account elsewhere, if you've a good credit history you should be able to get the same overdraft limit and therefore, remove any worry
