Help needed please - never had an MP3 player, need something simple but not too expensive, just to listen to reading books sometimes for half hour at a time!
First I saw Philips GoGear Raga 8GB MP3 Player. £34.99 good reviews, quite tough and long bettery life but not compatible with audio books, then saw Phillips Spark was, but seemed cheap and plasticky.
I want something easy to operate and to bookmark.
Does anyone have any recommendations as I'm going mad trying to find something.
Thanks

Yep, I can recommend the Sasa Clip+ as well.
According to the specs it will play............
Supports MP3, WMA, secure WMA, Audible, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, plus audio books and podcasts0 -

I have the Sandisk 8GB Sansa clip+, you can add more memory using a memory card, I believe you can add another 16GB using Sandisks own brand but I have been told to can add a 32Gb card.
I bought my clip+ from Amazon for £44, it is quite small about the size of a matchbox, sound is excellent, radio is okay as well.
If you are passing any of the major electrical dealers pop in and see if they have one to have a look at.
This is a good site for BBC radio plays which I use....

Thanks for the tip fishbulb :T
When I first got the clip+ I was slightly dissapointed that it sounded so quite but found a loudness setting in the menu that sorted that.0 -
The Clip/+ is easily the best choice for audiobooks - inexpensive and with useful features.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

Thanks all for your advice. I got the Sandisk sansa clip 8GB in Currys today for £44.99 and my other half has just helped me transfer some CDs I had, by using Windows Media - it was more complcated than we'd hoped, to set up.
I may download the full manual to see how it works as I'm not technically minded! Want to add podcasts next.
It is tiny, must get a little case for it, and thanks for the tip re radio, and the archive site which I'll use. Looking forward to using it now.
Thanks again all0 -
Couple of queries pleasemr_fishbulb wrote: »You can make the radio reception a lot better by changing it from stereo to mono
Please, How do you do this? I pressed settings radio then radio options, and it gave
delete all presets
FM Region USA
or
FM Mode Stereo
which is it, or am I in wrong place?
sorry to be so thick!
Also I put everything in songs
how do I get them in order or do a playlist? There are items already on there, I want to see My favourites first instead of scrolling down for them.
If I go back into Media Player and alter names, move them around etc, do I then have to wipe everything from the sansa clip and re enter it all on revised basis?
thanks again0
