What threads are you talking about Laura?
There have been one or two things by different people on different threads... not going to name names or whatever because there is no point being argumentative.

Just to be clear, I wasn't talking about constructive critisism either.. we are all quite good at asking for feedback and some people are honest and say 'that's not my cup of tea' or 'why not try...' and that's different.

I think chelbel1981 hit the nail on the head when she said that the posts she noticed weren't 'regulars' so I guess I was hoping to remind them/ advise them to be nice.

You're right Laura, nothing wrong with constructive critisism!

I mean, it would be boring if we all liked the same things wouldn't it, but there is a huge difference between, saying something isn't your cup of tea, to saying you wouldn't be seen dead wearing/using that something.

Sadly that's the way it is, and it isn't just here, it's the internet as a whole, so please don't take it that this place isn't friendly, because it really is!! xxx

I feel slightly hurt about the statement about 'some crass status symbol' as my engagement ring. I thought this board was very helpful and constructive before I read that thread.

I have seen a few things on here that I didn't like, but rather than say so, have said nothing. If I didn't think I had something useful to contribute I didn't say anything. But I get really annoyed when people criticise other peoples choices. We all have different tastes and different budgets.

Personally I am have been lurking here for a long time, but cannot plan any details for my wedding until a couple of things happen- and the savings mature in 2.5 years. Only closer to the time will I then know my budget and what I can afford. Although I was gutted that my perfect dress was in the Monsoon sale for £60 and I couldn't buy it yet!!!

PS Sorry if I have offended anyone, but the only time I am defensive is when I see criticism!

Also we must remember this is a 'Money saving' site, NOT a 'cheap as chips' site. One person may be spending 30K and another 1K both will want to get the best out of the budget!!

Exactly! Some of us may be working two jobs so we can spend that money- we have no idea what anyones circumstances are! Either way it is important that we all help each other to get the best we can for our budget and have the wedding we all want.

Princesswoo, you deeply offend me regularly!!

    You feed my Louboutin desire

Seriously, nothing you have ever said could be considered in anyway rude!

Whereas in some boards I 'may' be a little harsh if I think it is deserved (especially on ones were peeps think its okay to 'fiddle' cash out of shops or tax etc ) Here, I find it one of the 'nicest' board as 99.9% of posters realise that one persons dream wedding is anothers nightmare, but thats what makes us all different and life would be be very dull if we all liked the same things! :D
:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:
