O2 simplicity sim in iphone 3gs

Good afternoon all,

New here and have enjoyed all your posts, you are obviously a knowlegable lot!!!

Could I ask your advice/opinion please?

I have an old phone with an O2 simpilcity sim in it, tariff and mins/texts suit me fine. Phone is on the way out, partner has said she will treat me to an iphone for an upcoming birthday. Can I get one on a payg and just put my simplicity sim into it?
Would I need to unlock it, and would it work properly? My current deal includes unlimited internet with O2.

Thank you for your time

Paul

If you buy a payg iPhone on O2 it will come with a new sim which has unlimited internet and wifi (and minutes !).
If you want to move your existing number over to it, just get a free payg sim from another network and move it that and then back again.
  • To answer your question, yes a simplicity contract will work fine. As will any tariff regardless of being marketed as Iphone specific or not.

I am doing exactly as you intend to do although I made sure I had the internet bolt on because the phone is built around data so if you cant use it whenever you want without having to worry about data charges its only half a phone.

Additionally, there is a simplicity designed for the iPhone. £20pm 600min/1200text with web and wifi included free.

Thanks for the info above as I am looking to do a similar thing. I've had a look on the O2 website and can't see the iPhone Simplicity deal - can anyone give me a tip on where to find it?

Also, if I went for another Simplicity tariff, would I just need the Web bolt on or also Wifi? Sorry if this seems a silly question! :o

    Thanks

I think the iPhone simplicity deal might only be available through retentions for those coming off a Pay Monthly iPhone tariff.

MRC, you are a star! I started looking into a good deal after my 45/month iPhone contract ran out at the end of last year. I checked the various opco websites but when I saw your email, I thought "Yeah, that´s exactly what I was looking for!". Called o2 yesterday evening and the new tariff is now active.

    Thanks m8!

I got it roughly 2 weeks ago and wasn´t on an iPhone tariff before.

You get 600 mins, 1200 texts, unlimited Wifi, unlimited Internet.
