The value of your car isn't much of a consideration. You aren't just insuring your car, you're insuring the £150k Ferrari you could potentially hit.
As others have said, don't bother will fully comp. As a young driver, you'll have to put up with the "compulsory excess" - that could be up to £500 BEFORE you factor in the voluntary excess. Crash a £350 car and the best option would simply be to walk away from it.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. when I got my first car, my cheapest quote was from Diamond insurance (cheapest by £400!) - they are a woman only insurer, but you can put men on as named drivers (I have my husband on as a named driver)0

In terms of the fully comp. It CAN work out cheaper so is definatly worth checking out.
Also, if you are only third party then you will have to pay for any recovery costs that you might incur as the result of an accident (imagine if you were hundreds of miles from home & how much that would cost!) If you suffer an injury as the result of an accident you can also claim for personal injury from your ins co whereas you cant with third party.
Other companies to avoid are Budget and Sabre...Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0 -
