My IPod packed up over a year ago. While in trasit from Apple back to me it was damaged (Screen Smashed).
Apple & the courier agreed that the damaged was caused due to it not being packaged properly & I would recieve a replacement.
This would be only after I send them the original bill. This was sent last November. I am still waiting.
I call, email or write to Apple at least once a week, but am still waiting. All I am told is that "It is being dealt with"
My advise....DON'T BUY AN IPOD.0 -
The assistant at John Lewis who told someone here that they had to return direct to Apple was incorrect. They often advise people that it's quicker to deal directly with Apple (as things are only picked up once a week and only returned once a week so can add up to two weeks to the lead time), but they will still handle it for you if you want them to.0

as an adjunct to this thread, another cautionary note about apple.
couple of days ago, wifey bought me a ipod nano from the refurb store as a birthday present. ungrateful me doesn't want it so i ask her to send it back for a refund. apple will take it back ONLY if we use their carrier ata cost of £30.
now i know the reason for return isn't apples fault and this charge is stated in the t&cs. but this charge is excessive especially as they wont accept it back any other way. if it was bought from a 3rd party seller, it could be returned for less than £5 insured carrier. please bear this in mind when using the apple store.Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0 -
um just a tip if people are planning on buying ipods from high street stores, i used to work for woolies, and the refund policy on them is a phone number and you get connected to apple, and they sort out you driving to a place to get them fixed or sending it off some where. i assume other highst retailers now have the same policy as there are alot of problems with them, i'd check the policy on them before buying one and also try and get a copy of it attached to the reciept.0
