yes - all the debts that I have had with various places (since my husband went self employed and we struggled for a couple of years) - have all offered me a settlement figure of half of what the original debt was.Debt Free Day - November 1st 2011 - would be a fantastic Christmas that year ((Fingers crossed I can do it)):D
If we all stood together and threw our problems up in the air - we would rather catch our own again than somebody elses :A0 -
Yes you can offer them a full and final settlement - whether they feel like accepting it is a different matter
And it would mean you have to find a lump sum - if you can't find the £211 but they think you could then right now they are not going to take a low FF offer from you because they think they can get more out of you.
Make what payments you can afford as said and in a few months scrape all you can together and make them a full and final offer (IN WRITING RECORDED!)DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
Some posters state that the DCA's sometimes pay as little as 10% when they purchase debts. If that is the case, they can afford to be generous in their negotiations.0
