i wonder what the most amount of money someone has paid over the odds for??? and what the item was?
i bet theres loads!!!
maybe i could by a truck load to sell and give up work for a bit if it was something really popular!!
now that would be nice!!!What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -
I saw a hardback book that I wanted on ebay. It was second hand and sold for £10.50 + £8 P&P.
I bought the same book for £16.49 with free delivery from Amazon and it was brand new. Here I go again on my own....0 -
ive just sold a bunch of dvds for more than they are going for on play and hardbacks for the same price we got them 3 months ago! stupidness - always check before i buy from ebayYes Your Dukeiness0

I usually only buy off Ebay if something is either:
1. really hard to find
2. very cheap0 -
i was after a set of 3 books the other day- was watching the item, and planned to put a last minute bid of about £3 in (bringing the total +p&p to £6.50ish)
about an hr before the auction ended two daft mares started having a bidding war, and pushed the price up to £11!!!! thats £14.50 incl p&p!!
these books are going on amazon for 1p each, but with p&p makes the set of 3 about £8 (theyre being sold sepretley on there)
some folks eh?
noticed another book today- few mins to go, price upto£8 ish- few items down the page was a BIN for 99p! :rotfl:I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

do they not realise it will bump the price up, and its not always the newbies that do it!!!!
but obviously I dont mind that if i'm selling!! Hee Hee!!!
(Almost inevitably the item is one by a last minute sniper who hasn't bid before.)0 -
I never shop with Ebay until I have searched the net for prices and then I compare I also take into account any cashback I could get from online shops to compare fairly. I do get most of my things accept main food shop on the net (dont see the point in food shopping on line)0

jane_72 wrote:i've noticed quite a few times that people seem to choose to pay a lot more for items which they could buy cheaper from an online store!!!
for example....
i was looking for a cd,(a recent release) i found one on ebay i wanted, av been watching it for the last 7 days...
in the meantime i though i'd just check hmv and so on.....found it for 8.99 delivered...
i have just checked the one on ebay and it is up to £9.50 with nearly 2 days left, 11 bids, and £2.01 p+p
is it me? or are people really sooooo stoooooopid????????
Yes they are.
I have seen this across a range of items over the years, it staggers me what people will pay without even taking into account the postage.
Being kind for a minute maybe they dont do their research or maybe they get carried away with the bidding process. Either way the sellar is quids in.
Just happy not to be that gullible myself.

Well I've sold everything from torn jeans, used socks, mobile phones and sim cards(free ones of course). All of which would end up in the bin before ebay and all of them getting a healthy sum of money towards my holiday fund.
I think sometimes it is the thrill of winning something that sends the prices sky high, even when the item isn't worth the money. You cant take the trousers off an elephant!0
