I regularly need to scan coloured A4 sheets to create 4 page documents but am struggling to find the right way to do this without having really bloated file sizes.
Once scanned I put into a Word Doc, then create a PDF file with a proper Pdf software. To ensure the results are readable 4 pages is usually IRO 2mbs which is too high.
I also convert 4 page Word Docs, no scans, generated within Word but with photo inserts covering around 70% of all surface area and can get them down to 250kb and still good enough for screen reading.
So it is help with the scanning settings I could do with or what????

Nitro PDF maker.
Scanner is Canon canoscan lide20.0 -
When you use canonscan utilities you should be able to output to pdf
I have not used NitroPDF(except for free Printer) but is there not an option in there to create a PDF from Scanner/Twain (there is Adobe Acrobat)4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . I have been experimenting at 75, 100 but find that 300 is the one at which the end result is legible.0 -

I have just checked Canon support for any new drivers but nothing. I guess the scanner is now quite old and perhaps new ones may have more functionality. I will experiment a little more and try Primo pdf creator but that is the free version of the Nitro.
Thanks again for tyring to get me sorted.0 -
At last I seem to have got there but after spending most of the morning trying. The Canon scanner software interface is poor but I managed to dig right in and get it to scan to PDF and now my 4 pages are 320kb not 2mb.
