A friend of ours used the above company a few years ago for their Dalmatian pup. He even got a 'school report' that was delivered back with him from the host family! :rotfl:
I think it's a franchise business though, so may vary from area to area. Our friend was in West Yorks.£2 savers challenge:dance:£152/£200:naughty:Still trying to pay off my CC£3,800/£4,343 paid off0 -
I am going to put in another plug for www.housecarers.com !
Go on, give it a try by joining up ( free ) then posting a wanted ad....All contact is done through the site not direct until you decide otherwise, and you can just see who gets in touch. If someone suitable gets back to you..great. If you don't fancy anyone then nothing is lost!0 -
How about kennels near to where you will be so you can visit/take for walks etc.
I hate leaving my springer in kennels,,always get OH to take him cos i would cry.We always pick him up before we get home from airport etc. Am thinking of a new one:beer:0 -
i have just noticed your thread and i also have the same problems as we have a dog. if your holiday was a date we could make and your animals were friendly with children and other dogs. we would consider. we have a labrador and he is like a baby to us so we know exactly how you feel.0

It's a nightmare finding someone you trust to look after your dogs. Mostly my family look after mine but whenever they can't do it, I have a problem. Personally I'd rather not bother going away without the dogs, but my husband took unexpected early medical retirement and is always banging on about wanting to go away.
He'd go every month if he could, then moans the dogs are a liability, but he loves them really!
I'd go for the home boarding option as a much better choice than kennels.
Maybe we could say on here where we are located and if we could look after each others dogs? I would be happy to swap dog minding within Merseyside.0 -
I'd love to do something like this....not working as I can't really due to health issues.....and it means I'd get to look after animals and I love animals!** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

You'll be very lucky to find a good dog sitter cheaply. Be very careful.
