    Afternoon all

Well I did my last shop of the month yesterday a grand total of €13 :D -Our month starts on the 25th so Im declaring at €64 this month :j -and I have sooooooo much crammed into fridge/freezers n cupboards -so March should be a good one again,,,,,oh and I have managed 24 NSDS out of 29

Hubby managed to grab 12 organic butter and 16 bags of tesco bread flour when he was back in the UK for a couple of days -so I now have 28 bags :T-its great as it means that it only costs approx 25p to make a batch of bread(2 cakes) plus the cost of the remoskas electricity .... and hubbies pack up uses half a cake(6 slices) -so just 6p(plus fillings) :p and best of all -hubby loves HM bread

We still have snow -and just as it looked like it was about to go -This morning it started again

meals for this week look set to be -in no particular order
    1. braised lamb shank with veggies and mashed potato n swede
    2. HM tortilla wraps filled with ham, feta and tzatziki with salad
    3. jacket potatoes with cottage cheese and salad
    4. Tuna pasta salad
    5. special fried rice (hubby has mastered this so now its a regular saturday evening meal :p-which gives me a meal off from cooking)
    6. HM pizzas
    7. jackets with salad and cottage cheese -again :D
Nothing much happening out here so I will get off...hope everyone is looking forward to a new month starting :T

poohbear - that must be a nightmare to plan! Flex your budget with a per person per week maybe?

I am over yet again but I do know why. DH has given up alcohol which is great - we wasted a lot of money on this out of the entertainment budget - but he is instead drinking a huge amount of fruit juice. Best part of £60 has gone on juice this month between him and the boys . Need to talk to him about the calorific content of the juice and the cost .

Overall costs are down though :T.

Ouch! That is a lot of juice but much healthier than alcohol. DH has given up alcohol too, except at weekends but DB has brought in some today.

Thanks, that is a good idea. I know I shouldn't get stressed about it. I usually go for £10 per person per week.

Well I've gone over budget today with a trip to sainsbugs to use a £4 off a £20 spend. Also the trip to costco at the beginning of the month has not helped.

Anyway, also popped to a butchers on the way home and got a ham shank, this will be used next week fot soup etc. I also managed to finally find some seville oranges so will be making some marmalade later this week.

I will mot be declaring until Saturday but MrsM please will you put me down for £125 for March again and I hope I can get sorted this time.

Posted a few days ago saying I wanted to join for March. We have £450 put aside for grocery budget but going for £400 in March this includes all household expenses (not utilities) so dog food, toiletries, takeaway, odd bottle of booze and anything food related for 2 adults and 2 DD's (5 & 7).

Feeling motivated - lets hope it lasts!

    Hi,
Just popping in to report 3 NSDs in a row - I really need to have more, am officially skint now until pay day next week!

I don't need anything until the weekend and I'll try to meal plan to bring the shopping list down to the absolute bare minimum. Will have to try to persuade OH that he likes cheaper food!

Anyway, Mrs M could you please put me down for £180 for March - its a 4 week month for me and I'm going to try to stick to £45 a week for all food, dog food, toiletries and household bits.

I'll be off to look at the feed your family for 5p threads then...!

    Hi all

Well I'm hanging on by my fingernails here!
Another £11.98, all necessary except for a 59p pack of digestives.
I have to confess that I've used a £10 T*esco voucher in this shop as I wanted to hold on to my cash.
I was saving the vouchers for Christmas - that didn't last long did it?! and I might be raiding them again before Monday morning!
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.

Ive decided that from February I have not counted meals out as this would constantly leave me not meeting my target plus this is budgeting for in other areas. But i will still include the weekly takeaway. So that leaves me with £189 so far. Over budget by £9. But I did buy lots of bulk items and alcohol on one shopping trip. On the other hand I have not been as good this month at planning meals.
