Spent £7.41 today and I'm now about £4 over budget.
I'll probably spend at least another tenner before Sunday night but I'm still quite pleased - I spent £463.09 last month so it is progress.
I'm another one who is very admiring of the people on these threads who are properly frugal. I've made small improvements - I think more now about what I'm doing (always helps!) but I still have some rubbish habits like shopping every day and buying too many convenience foods.
There is still much work to be done!August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
Had hoped to come in under budget this month...but oh no.
So far I am £10.84 over...and 5 days NSDs short...a correlation methinks!!!
Oh well....here's hoping that we have the last 3 days as NSDs...not holding my breath though...DS2's school belt broke today, so if DH's one doesn't fit him, I'll have to get him another tomorrow...his trousers will fall down without one!
Going to plan the next month's meals in the next day or so, then sort out an on-line order from Mr T early next week....at least that is the plan...I am all for plans!!!

Well here goes with my first full challenge (I managed 3 NSD Sun - Tue) and did spend £18.30 in Mr T today but not counting this as my month begins tomorrow on pay day. OH spent £4.98 yesterday on bits in local shop too.
Had an email from Mr S online as haven't used them in a while so have £10 off a £50 order and will do one over the weekend for the bulkier/stock items like loo rolls, flour, sugar etc.
The breadmaker has been going on average every other day (two loaves yesterday mind) and we are trying to get the recipe right as a couple were so sugary it wasn't the best to eat with savoury food! We've got a slightly better mix now that holds together much better for my sarnies for work. I'm sure this has had a positive impact not only in the saving on the price of a sliced loaf but also not being tempted to buy other things when buying the bread. Anyone have a cast iron recipe for 2lb sandwich or wholemeal loaf in the Morphy Richards please?
Please would you put me down for £280 budget for March (26th Feb to 31st March)?
Wish me luck!Mortgage Free October 2013 :T0 -
Declaring at £112.01 for Feb. Had a target of £120, so think I can afford to bring it down again. Realistically I could come in at least another £20 lower, but as many of you remind us, live is for living too!
That said I'll aim for £110 for march please. My name is CherryPie and I'm addicted to grocery shopping!!
Grocery Challenge
Feb 2016 - £46.73 / £100.000 -
Evening all, crawling in with head hung in shame to declare another massive overspend (£77.74!!!!!). Can't really explain even to myself why (although a birthday involving 2 special meals, and a SC holiday in Cornwall for half term might go some way towards it) so have just told the OH he cannot go to Lidl and buy booze, or crisps, or chocolate this week, or any other in fact, until we get back within the budget!
With that thought in mind, I am setting March budget at £230 please and hoping to goodness I can actually stick to it this time. Anyone else absolutely knackered this Winter, or is it just me?
