_Andy_ - im sure that the majority of people who read my comment on claiming disabilties would take I meant the scroungers who have no disability and are taking the p155, so please retract your comment as you are manipulating what i meant0

Not sure on what you're basing this statement but as one of my best friends is unable to work through no fault of his own due to disability (and would much rather work but can't) I find that extremely offensive (as I'm sure the vast majority of people claiming disability benefits legitimately would do).
If you were aware of the small income derived in those situations from benefits I'm sure you wouldn't feel it was 'living it up'.
I have a daughter who has had problems breathing since she was born. she gets a disability benefit which means I can buy her things to try to compensate her breathing problems. The cold damp english weather doesn`t suit her condtion so we have 1 or 2 weeks of warmth abroad which eases her problems no end. You are quite welcome to the money if you want her breathing problems, she is only 9.0 -

You put people living it up on disabilities.0 -
[QUOTE=twerp__It_just_seems_a_completley_unfair_situation.:(This takes a lot of working out to see what responsibilty you are taking for borrowing other people's money ie mortgage/loanQuote: "we now pay around £100 less than our beginning mortage payments, great!" "we are enjoying low payments" "I can afford the payments and could probably afford more"
Why would anyone celebrate paying less whilst at the same time complain of an over mortgaged property... Why are you not using the £100.00 to reduce your debt? instead of "enjoying low payments"
Quote: "but I have other debts which need paying off , credit cards etc" "the other debts are a credit card around 4.5k 6.9%apr and another credit card 2k around 10% apr.....I do have 2 loan payments which are coming to an end this september which combine to around £400 per month. This is my saving salvation as that can be plowed into paying off existing."
Quote: 86000 95% mortgage, and a 18000 unsecured loan (quote: "it was used to pay off an existing debt")
Why did you take on more debt when you had used the 18k unsecured to pay off existing debts!!..
I really feel for people who have been affected in the last couple of years through no fault of theirs.....
However, reading the OP's posts...he borrowed more than value of property in the beginning, some of this was used to pay off his existing debts. However since then he has incurred more debt with CC's and loans....and then says its a "completley unfair situation"...:T
No lender is compelled to offer you a new deal...
You have placed yourself in this situation and need to take the responsibilty that goes along with borrowing other people's money.0 -

I won't be retracting anything - your comment was unambigious and I'm sure I'm not the only person who read it how I did.0 -
My main gripe is at the moment things are rosey, bank gets there money, I have no problem paying it, never missed payment etc. Would be far fairer if things went on individual merit, Id class myself as decent business to any bank. Just when you see all the spongers getting big semi detached houses for nothing, people living it up on disabilities etc I work long hours and pay my taxes but probably find myself in one of the worst positions! hard not to feel a tad sorry for myself! hence my annoyance with NR
Agree it would be sweeter if things went on individual merit - and it would be nice if you extended that curtesy to 'all the people living it up on disabilities', remember not all of those lucky, lucky disabled people, who are currently living the high life on benefits have always been disabled and you dont know when it might be your turn to join their lucky club.0 -

I understand what your saying OP ..... but unfortunately you also have touched a nerve with people on here ....... everyone has there opinions about things like this, but sometimes its best to keep our opinions to ourselves.
You are unfortunately not going to win on here trying to get advise/opinions from others as to what to do/best way to help you etc as there are people on this forum who have nothing better to do than spends hours nit picking over every word you write and tell you its your fault for borrowing the money in the first place ..... i thought this was a forum to come to, to get help and advise/opinions from other people, whether that be in the same situation or people who genuinely take there time to guide you in the best way they can, after all we are not all experts and perfect, if we were there would be no need for such a forum .... instead of critistism ..... that is of course only my opinion0 -

hardly - it's quite simple - the OP made a sweeping, generalising, offensive remark about people who dare to claim disability benefits.
That didn't take 'hours' and isn't 'nit picking'.0 -

I agree .... thats why i said "best to keep opinions to ourselves" ..... i agree wrong place to post something like that! That didn't take 'hours' and isn't 'nit picking'
That comment didnt have anything to do with "disabilities" just a general statement... hence new paragraph .... and it certainly wasnt a dig at your comment!0 -
