Problems with an eBay seller

Hi,

Last sunday I ordered a desk from ebay, it came to £95 inc delivery, I recied it tuesday and it was damaged, looked like the wood had become damp and warped in storage, I contacted the seller and they said they would arrange for a courier to pick it up today, no one arrived.

I was just wondering where I should go from here, what's my rights? I don't want to go through paypal and eBay yet I want to try and resolve it ammacably.

I never had a problem like this before, I have no idea what to do. Any advice would be grateful.

Cheers.

Leaving negative feedback often leads to the seller resolving things a little more quickly, "you can rip a person off but just once" springs to mind.

Yeah I thought about doing that, I think I'll contact them in the morning and use the neg as a last resort.

    Thanks.

Try moving this over to the ebay board. If you do as dutr says, you may find the seller has no incentive to help you. Go through the proper channels, and don't blackmail the seller with the threat of a negative.
I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!

I didn't even know eBay had boards, thanks for the suggestion I started a thread over there and just emailed the seller, just asked him if he arranged the courier.

    Cheers.

Leaving bad feedback at this early stage is unfair and will just annoy the seller, I don't recommend that at all, just contact them saying the courier did not come today as expected and see what they say.

Why would the seller be bothered after the neg had been left?

Just try and sort it out and if they mess you around just stick your PayPal claim in.

There is a clearly defined procedure for goods that are not as described (SNAD)

I went through the process yesterday and the seller refunded me AND told me to keep the item.
